Hamdi, 26, was left out of Zamalek’s Champions League squad in a clear indication from manager Hassan Shehata that he has no future at the club.

The lanky forward requested transfer back in November before ‘apologizing’ to Shehata, only for the latter to rule him out of his first-team plans.
